We are hiring for an exceptional Electrical Engineer to join our team of world-renowned experts and Product Development Engineers.

Join us in our innovation As an Electrical Engineer, you will provide support for existing products and fixtures consisting of digital and analog electronics as well as embedded systems and software support.You will conduct complaint failure investigations, support CAPAs & engineering projects.

This is an entry level position designed to develop a basic and broad engineering skillset to include electrical systems troubleshooting, root cause analysis, fixture design, project management, and ECMO medical device knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As part of a cross-functional team, participate in the development of electronic medical devices including system architecture and detailed circuit design and implementation for embedded systems.

Investigate complaints by reviewing clinical notes, analyzing product performance data, and inspecting and testing returned product to determine a root cause of the complaint.

Support sustaining engineering projects by proposing drawing and specification changes, modifying engineering models and drawings, designing test fixtures, conducting testing, and analyzing data.

Test and troubleshoot prototype circuits and designs to the component level.

Lead small projects by developing a project plan and schedule by adhering to the design control process.

Execute CAPA projects to include root cause analysis, corrective action implementation and effectiveness monitoring REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BS in Electrical Engineering or directly related scientific discipline 5years of relevant work experience Proficiency with Engineering CAD software (Altium preferred) 3 years of experience with circuit design and trouble-shooting printed circuit assemblies to the component level Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written) Determination to overcome obstacles and the initiative to execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision A passion for medical devices and making a significant positive impact on the lives of our patients Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time, internationally and domestically PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a regulated industry.

Medical device development experience highly desirable.

Hands-on experience with analog, digital, and mixed signal systems Cross-functional experience with mechanical systems and embedded software Familiarity with medical device standards and CE mark requirements for international use Abiomed is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
