Boeing is seeking a Special Test Equipment Architecture, Engineering, and Design Senior Manager (Level L) to join our team in El Segundo, California.

This role will lead and manage the new BT&E (Boeing Test and Evaluation) Special Test Equipment (STE) Architecture, Engineering and Design organization. This senior leader will be responsible for the daily management and leadership of STE design engineers and architects, while also driving and implementing Model Based Engineering processes, tools and techniques across the organization.

This organization is challenging the status quo of Special Test Equipment Architecture, Engineering and Design and is transitioning to a Model Based Engineering culture and operations mindset that leverage the Boeing Digital Enterprise, including Model Based System Engineering and Model Based Definition. This organization provides Special Test Equipment architecture, engineering and design services in support of all space systems STE design, verification and test activities in El Segundo, CA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Systems Engineering, Design, Engineering, and Architecture.

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, roadmaps, goals, and objectives

  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SSBI clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 5+ years as of experience as a leader or manager 

  • 5+ years of electrical engineering and design experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Top Secret/SSBI clearance

  • Systems Engineering experience

  • STE architecture and design experience

  • Product Test Life Cycle experience

  • Model Based Engineering experience

  • Model Based Systems Engineering experience

  • Model Based Definition experience
