Electrician

The journeyman electrician will work under the supervision of the General Manager.

The journeyman electrician is highly trained on the installation, repair, maintenance, and safe removal of electrical components.

Requirements Represent company in a professional manner and hold client in your highest regard Plan construction methods and procedures to be able to complete the assigned electrical tasks Read, interpret, and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications to complete commercial electrical equipment installations Test electrical and equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance as required Install and replace AC/DC motors and drives, transformers, motors, starters, and relays Install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting, and alternative electrical parts Install, repair, or replace generators and industrial storage batteries Do preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems (including power distribution equipment) Install electrical circuits, as well as panels, conduit, protecting devices, switches, and equipment Work on electrical failures and replace components wherever production time is often affected Correct connections and wiring on equipment controls wherever incorrect applications may cause harm and dangerous conditions May install, maintain, and connect electrical equipment and connected devices Comply with standards and procedures of industry, Safety Manual, and all safety rules Follow instructions from Foreman, Project Manager, and General Manager Other duties as assigned Essential skills and experience: Must hold a valid Journeyman Electrician License The ability to communicate with multiple parties from Employee to Customer, relate to a diverse group of individuals, maintain and build good working relationships, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools Knowledge of safety issues and regulations Excellent mathematical skills, including application and use in problem-solving Ability to coordinate own and others’ actions and manage own time Strong understanding and expression of written and verbal English sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents Sensitivity to and ability to solve problems; ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong At least 5 years as a journeyman electrician, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities Must be able to read electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints Knowledge of electrical codes Must possess communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety needs Must possess team spirit, and be able to work closely with coworkers, other contractors, and clients Must have valid drivers’ license and own transportation as most locations aren’t accessible with public transportation Must be self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, self-starter with energy and enthusiasm High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to travel Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, and must be ready to do overtime work if the need arises Well organized and able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks and shifting priorities Professional, approachable manner, and reliable Attentive to detail and accuracy Valued but not required skills and experience: Experience in other trades/skills in contracting/general construction industry Reporting to this position: N/A Physical Demands: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
