Data Architect (Remote)

Analytica is seeking a Data Architect to support dynamic federal government enterprise data programs.

The ideal candidate will lead the architecture and implementation of robust high-volume system architectures using innovative technologies.

Responsibilities include (But Are Not Necessarily Limited To): Support development of complex logical and physical database design efforts using databases such as PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

Develop solutions for multiple large data warehouses/operational data stores with knowledge of high scale or distributed Relational Database Management systems (RDBMS) and traditional RDBMS with hands-on programming capability in such environments.

Develop database procedures and functions and develop extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes.

Assists in developing and administering data standards, policies, and procedures, metadata and including data security.

Assists management in the application of information security and the adherence to data management policies, principles, and practices.

Work with teams to train users on consuming data and the appropriate tools and technical skills require to do so.

Provide training where needed.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or related field 3 years of experience in database design, architecture, and data modeling Experience with query tuning, optimization, and refactoring for performance Experience in SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL Experience in Linux Environment and Shell Scripting Experience in managing code using GitHub or other Source Code Management Tool Experience with Data Marts, Data Lakes Implemented data sharding strategy to house Big Relational Data in CitusDB, AWS Redshift and AWS RDS Provided DataMart catered to various Research groups Devised data migration strategy from local datacenter to AWS cloud native infrastructure Leveraged all prominent AWS Lambda, S3, SNS, ECS, Glue, RDS, Redshift and other various other services to replace legacy big data system Leverage Vagrant, Docker to facilitate productivity for fellow team members.
