Job Title Data Architect (Azure) Locations Los Angeles, CA or Arvada, CO or Bellevue, WA or Concord, CA or Dallas, TX or Portland, OR Duration 6 Months Contract to Hire Job Description Summary The Data Architect will be a member of the Data Office team that works together to provide innovative solutions, incubating a culture of pervasive data and analytics within Swinerton. We are looking for a Data Architect that is experienced in designing and maintaining architectures for data platforms to support operational reporting, analytics, and AI + Machine learning workloads. You are passionate about modern data architectures and have at least 3 years’ professional experience implementing architectures for solutions built upon Microsoft Azure technologies such as Azure Automation Azure Data Factory Azure SQL Data Warehouse Azure Databricks Azure Logic App Event Hub Azure Storage Data Lake Azure SQL Database Azure Synapse Analytics Job ResponsibilitiesDuties Work closely with Data Office team members to provide innovative solutions, incubating a culture of pervasive data and analytics and collaborate on the design of modern data platforms and data integration solutions, including data technology roadmap planning Work regularly with staff on system design, configuration and maintenance for platforms needed to build out this capability Assist staff with troubleshooting and issue resolution Work with internal customers for data delivery enhancements and issue resolution, as needed Ensure data platform capabilities support our operations in alignment with the Business Technology strategic plan and enable vision of the future Adhere to change management practices in system commissioning, operation, and retirement Work with systems product managers, systems operators, and vendors to ensure that platforms are operating within design service level tolerances Provide supporting reports as needed to confirm platform success or exceptions. Partner with staff and cross-functional project teams in the delivery of new and modified systems Work with various stakeholders to develop and visually communicate platform design in ways that are understandable a broad range of technical experience Maintain current specifications of data platforms using Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word files Complete other responsibilities as assigned Minimum Required SkillsExperience Minimum 5 years of work experience with data platform design and operation, including minimum 3 years implementing and maintaining Microsoft Azure data platforms and architectures Bachelorrsquos Degree or foreign academic equivalent in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of study, or equivalent combination of related work experience and education Strong Sense of Ethics – Demonstrate strength of character and awareness of and commitment to Companyrsquos core values. Show good judgment in actions, decisions, and direction Modern Data Platforms – Expertise in data storage concepts and structures (relationalnon-relational databases, data lakes, etc.). Familiar with established and emerging cloud data design patterns and reference architectures for storage, computation, analytics, AI + Machine Learning Familiar with data industry trends and can plan a path from current to future states Strong verbal and written communication, ability to clearly articulate and communicate effectively in writing and in various sized meetings while understanding what information is critical to communicate and keeps people informed Knowledge and application of human-centered design principals are a plus Able to thoughtfully plan and communicate future tasks and carefully maintains those tasks as conditions change. Experience in monitoring and measuring – establishing platform KPIs and OKRs and regularly measuring and communicating performance Ability to analyze problems by gathering and organizing relevant information and breaking down processes identify cause and effect relationships. Identifies alternative solutions and selects the best option. Innovative. Adapts traditional methods, concepts, tools, or designs to new applications devise new approaches to make improvements or solve problems and shares ideas with others Demonstrates decision making skills through consistent logic, rational, and objective thinking and reasoning Experienced in designing and maintaining architectures for data platforms to support operational reporting, analytics, and AI + Machine learning workloads.
