Cloud Architect

One of Airetel Staffing’s valued clients is looking for a Cloud Architect t o join them remotely.

JOB SUMMARY
This job defines and promotes architecture direction and governance for Highmark’s multi-cloud strategy and initiatives. Implements enterprise cloud architecture strategy and leads the adoption of cloud services. Executes and refines the cloud platform strategy. Formulates architecture, establishes governance, manages cloud providers, facilitates adoption and participates in the Cloud Center of Enablement (CCOE). Acts as a liaison and consultant to various technology organizations on best practices, principles and processes required to leverage best in class cloud capabilities and technologies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, facilitate and support cloud pipeline initiatives on multiple fronts, including participating in the CCOE.
  • Hands on experience working container and serverless applications (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understand the executive vision and make it a reality, while overseeing the cloud adoption and governance process. Communicate and collaborate to promote strong partnerships between the architects, engineers, developers and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate understanding of cloud specific technical aspects in multiple areas of expertise and provide recommendations for solutions and designs. The areas expertise may be any aspect of information, technology, technique, method, process, product, or application area.
  • Support appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensure that they are applied effectively.
  • Develop an understanding of the inter-dependency between the Cloud Architecture strategy and Enterprise Architecture strategy
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field (required) (or 6 years of specific related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree)
  • Manager is looking for a well rounded architect with most recently 2-3 years of experience as a Cloud Architect. (required)
  • 10 to 15 years of total professional experience (required)
  • 3 years of Technical expertise in cloud based IT resource operations
  • 1 year of Technology lead with technical decision making responsibilities OR 1 year of IT solution delivery or in providing consultative solution architecture and support services of Enterprise scope and depth
  • 3 years in the Healthcare Industry (preferred)
  • Amazon and Azure cloud experience are preferred cloud experience but will consider Google Cloud experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (HIGHLY REQUIRED SKILL SET)
  • Must have Cloud Pipeline Technologies (Terraform and/or Gitlab) experience (required)
  • Leadership within Project Management skills or Program Management skills are needed
  • Must work 40 hours a week, be in all meetings, video meetings as well during core business hours.
  • Broad technical experience and understanding of multiple disciplines including; Automation and Orchestration, Infrastructure and Operations, Enterprise Integration, Application Architecture, Security Architecture and External hosting practices
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of technical security that protects the organization’s assets.
  • Awareness of security policies, network security, data security and security event management to adopt cloud security services
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry patterns for application architecture and integration
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Broad IT platform and application expertise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage mid level business and IT leadership to understand the goals of the organization
  • Clearly communicate business strategies, and articulate dependencies and requirements, to business leaders
