Boeing Global Services (BGS) Modifications and Conversions, located in sunny Southern California, is seeking Experienced Modifications Structural Analysis Engineer with broad knowledge of Boeing design, stress analysis, certification, and engineering principles.

Stress analysis will consider static strength and fatigue life of primary and secondary structure across the fleet of Boeing airplane models, including 787, and will be required to comply with all applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).

This role also offers a flexible work from home (telecommuting) schedule requiring at least two days in the office per week.
Telecommuting is subject to change if role requires additional on-site coordination.
Position Responsibilities: Perform detailed structural analysis (static strength, durability/fatigue and damage tolerance) to determine structural integrity (margins of safety) using classical techniques and Boeing tools.
Support responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and to show compliance with regulatory requirements.
Support structural design and configuration development Perform trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements Develop, deploy, and support in-house and commercial application software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks Integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, our customer, and regulatory requirements Lead resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer Assess damage, develop repairs, and produce substantiation of continued safe operation of aircraft in response to service requests This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering 3 years of experience working with aircraft stress analysis/structural analysis?
Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience in Fatigue analysis Experience in Damage tolerance analysis Experience with ENOVIA, CASTLE, FEADMS, IAS, CSW, FAMOSS, Moss-Duberg, CATIA, PDM, FLIP Experience with Certification and FAA regulations Experience with qualification testing (vibe, strain gauge, proof pressure, etc.) Experience interfacing with internal customers and/or airline customers Experience with Finite Element Analysis.
Experience in metallic part static analysis Experience in composite part static analysis Typical Education/ Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.
Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.
PhD, Master3 years’ related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
