Web Design and Development Manager

As Web Manager you will assist the sales team and account executives in working with clients as well as represent A|D in front of current and future clients.

The ideal candidate for Web Design and Development Manager will have experience with estimating projects, managing projects, timelines, budgets, and personnel, as well as a good working knowledge of both front-end and back-end development, ecommerce, email marketing platforms, and hosting account management.

You will work with the design team and current front-end web developers to combine the art of design with the art of programming.

You will work to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how a website looks as well as how it works.

You will ensure high performance and responsiveness in websites.

Responsibilities Meet with clients and A|D team members to assist with sales, discovery, planning and managing projects and client relationships Determining best practices and solutions for clients’ needs and estimating costs Scheduling, budgets, timelines, prioritizing tasks and allocation of personnel and assets to deliver completed projects Integration of user-facing elements developed by our designers with server-side logic Building reusable code and libraries for future use Implementation of security and data protection Set up web hosting solutions with either the client’s or A|D’s preferred vendors Ecommerce setup Work with bulk email platforms Design and implementation of data storage solutions Develop new user-facing features Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders Skills and Qualifications Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, as well as custom CMSs, WordPress, or other off-the-shelf CMSs Background with accessibility, WCAG & ADA Compliance, and PCI and security compliance User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments Good understanding of the setup, management of use of web hosting environments, including database administration, email, FTP, and scaling an application to support load changes Optimization of functionality for maximum speed and scalability Data migration, transformation, and scripting Setup and administration of backups Outputting data in different formats Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes Implementing quality control and testing procedures Proficient knowledge of PHP and MySQL Understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git Experience with bulk email platforms a plus Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery Solid understanding of Bootstrap responsive framework Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that website will adhere to them Ability to jump in on legacy or inherited codebases including WordPress Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud apps and Microsoft Office 365 apps You should also: Be able to effectively communicate and coordinate with clients and staff Thrive under pressure and have a high level of productivity Be able to perform and deliver under deadline driven constraints Be organized with great time management skills Take direction and feedback well Be proactive with industry trends Have a self-motivated attitude Compensation $65,000 to $85,000 DOQ Members of our team enjoy: Competitive salary commensurate with experience Paid medical insurance Matching 401K Delta Dental plan and Heritage Life Insurance at no cost to you Paid vacation and holidays A high-performance atmosphere and an amazing client roster Job Type: Full-time Required experience: Web Design and Development: 5 years Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
