Industrial Designer (Contract)

We look to establish a language that considers updated optimization on dispensing, refillability, size, and design. This person will work alongside the internal creative packaging team to help us visualize an accurate vision based on all the inputs. This is a contract role and is 100% remote.Responsibilities:ID (bottle form and dispensing) concept creation and outlining clear pros and cons for each conceptCreate concepts that are in line with existing category strategiesCreate concepts that will work and can be executed commercially, with retail specifications and the consumer’s use case/environment in mindCreate an overall optimal and premium interaction with the product (functionality that is premium)Collaborate with partners and vendors to provide mechanical CAD drawings to create custom design bottle, closures and communicate with the vendor to ensure accurate and successful translation and execution of the designAbility to provide prototyping in some capacity that can be shared with the team (3D printed models, sketches, in market references) and translate to how different concepts would build upon existing industry-established knowledgeAbility to take feedback, iterate quickly, provide refinements, design specs and deliver and communicate with the vendorProvide innovative thinking and sustainable packaging ideas (considerations or a POV on pumps, refill pouches, other refill executions, new materials)Experience & Skills:Experience and knowledge of responsible material and manufacturing processes that minimize waste or are easily and readily able to be recycledExperience designing different bottles and closures in a range of plasticsExperience with lifestyle CPG brands with creating custom packaging solutions that are in the market (and successful) strongly preferredExperience with injection molding.5+ years experience in industrial designExperience and proficiency with CAD programsAbility to design solutions that meet and can hold exact volume and liquid; knowledge of CAD volumetricsCollaborative, communicative, willing to share and learn and iterateAbility to work within an established timelinesHims is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetics or any other basis forbidden under federal, state, or local law.
