The basic function of the Service Technician is to troubleshoot and restore audio visual components and systems back to working conditions according to the design specifications.
Responsibilities:Troubleshoot complex systems and install equipment such as: Distributed audio systems, network, WIFI, Speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, media rooms, audio, control systems, connecting wires and cables.Install Crestron, Lutron and Savant control systemsBuild equipment racksProfessionally mount equipment into racksTesting systemsSetup and program remotes and various automation systems.Terminate cat6, Coax, fiber and connectors.Troubleshoot and tone wires for identification.Ensure equipment installation according to designated layout.Maintain inventory of equipment.Provide a brief verbal review of the highlights for the week including issues that developed.Responsible for establishing the most efficient sequence of tasks in advance.Responsible for ensuring material needed for the day is readily available the night before.Responsible for loading the correct tools, equipment and supplies for the assigned work.Routing of service calls to minimize overall travel time.Responsible for a weekly report to the Operations Manager Required Skills:Knowledge of various types of low voltage wiring.Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.Ability to pre-wire audio visual systems per plan.Excellent communication skills with team and client.Self-motivated and ability to work alone to accomplish tasks to clients demands.Ability to read and interpret basic schematic drawings and cable run lists.Knowledge of system signal flow and troubleshooting skills.Knowledge of of standard tools required to perform audio/video integrations.Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.Ability to focus.Basic knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.Ability to climb and descend ladders safely.Not afraid of heights.Very strong attention to detail and solid A/V troubleshooting skills.Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills:Any AV control system certifications, especially Savant, Lutron and CEDIA and ESC.Experience with data networking setup and configuration.Intermediate understanding of audio DSP programming and testing.Installation experience with networked AV equipment.Strong PC (Microsoft Office) and computer experience.Ability to manage resources, set priorities and achieve deadlines.
