The UCLA Technology Development Group (TDG) is a group of professional staff dedicated to commercializing technology, collaborating with industry, and fostering entrepreneurship.

The number of startup companies spinning out of UCLA continues to trend above 20 per year.

Supporting UCLA startups helps catalyze UCLA technologies to market, and increases the likelihood of royalty and equity-based returns to the university.

TDG seeks a self-starter to support UCLA startup companies and aid in commercializing scientific research in the life and physical sciences as a Startup Support Associate.

The job duties of the Startup Support Associate include (1) Tracking spinouts created by UCLA faculty and students and building a database with relevant information; (2) Conducting support calls with startups and provide connections to investors, entrepreneurs, and talent; (3) Providing continued support through TDG’s Startup in a Box program, connecting all UCLA-related startups to service providers including, corporate law firms, banks, human resources, and tax and accounting services, (4) Helping startups solidify their value proposition and create pitch decks, (5) Connecting UCLA startups to local, national and international competitions; and (6) Building a startup community in and around UCLA.
