*A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST*
As an IT Support Specialist, you are key in keeping the communication between stores, customers, and vendors intact and running smoothly.

You set up new user domain accounts, email accounts, and group memberships.

Additionally, you perform preventative maintenance including checking and cleaning workstations to ensure optimal tech performance.

When troubleshooting requests from business users and store operations come in, you handle them in a timely, courteous manner.

Working with clients, you build rapport and provide needed support.

You meticulously document all pertinent identification information including name, location, contact information, and the nature of the issue in our call tracking system.
As a troubleshooting extraordinaire, you solve technical issues and facilitate repair through existing partners.

You efficiently perform hands-on fixes, including installing software, installing hardware, and configuring systems.

Coordinating warranty repair with approved vendors, you test the fixes to ensure the problem has been solved.

You then perform post-resolution follow-ups to the service request.
While your technical and troubleshooting skills are important, your ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with end-users is equally important.

*QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST*
Experience with point of sale (POS) and store applications
Experience with desktop and server operating systems
Knowledge of the complete system synergy including POS, UNIX, PC, LAN, WAN, Mainframe, and others
Knowledge of basic computer hardware including desktop PCs, modems, networking equipment, wireless access points, and POS terminals
A bachelor’s degree in computer science is preferred, but not required.

Having 5+ years of work experience in IT support would be a plus.
