The Los Angeles Film School, a leader in entertainment arts education, is seeking candidates for the position of IT Support Specialist.

The IT Support Specialist will report to the IT Manager and provide support for faculty, staff, and students’ workstations, printers, laptops and phones, including connectivity and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities: *
Review tickets and troubleshoot issues, including domain account creation and password resets
Work on projects assigned by IT Manager that will improve the school’s technology and efficiency, including testing new hardware and software
Manage student lab workstations, including deployment of images and maintenance of packages
Support student technology issues, including connectivity to the school’s network, account creation, and application installation
Support staff and faculty workstations and laptops, including hardware and software deployment, phone connections, general IT troubleshooting, and network connectivity
Support staff and students off campus, including over the phone and screen share support
Support classroom technology, including connections to the network, audio, and video equipment.
Report and communicate system issues with the IT Manager and possibly escalate issues to the Systems or Network Administrator
Create and edit IMT support documentation, including Knowledge Base articles
Stay current with technological developments related to computer hardware, software, as well as the latest trends in computer and systems management

Experience: *
An understanding of Active Directory and User accounts
Extensive experience with Windows 10 workstations
Experience with Mac OS, including OSX and MacOS
Experience with Mac and Windows in a domain environment
Knowledge of implementing security on Windows and Mac, including access to shares and services
Troubleshooting and diagnosis of system issues, including reviewing event logs and system logs
Some experience with VLAN and subnets
Knowledge of audio and video equipment and setup is a plus
Able to communicate clearly to the customer and supervisor, including scheduling a repair or downtime
2+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.

Educational Requirements: *
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science strongly recommended
A+, Linux+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation advantageous.
