The Enrollment Services Office of Communications and Data Mail is seeking a Data Management Specialist to join our team. This role creates and maintains databases, while engaging in data collection of requested formats. The Data Management Specialist runs statistical analysis programs, generates charts and graphs. This position provides the data that is used in the sending of 200+ email campaigns and 60+ mail campaigns each year. Over the last year, there has been an increase in the number of communications sent to prospective and admitted students and families, including an increase in the requests received from the President and Provostrsquos Offices as well as the Student Healthrsquos Office. These communications require a person who is knowledgeable in the building of data queries. This position is integral in the communications for Undergraduate and Graduate Admission, Academic Records and Registrar, Financial Aid and Orientation programs. They are also key in assisting the Provost Office with updating the parent database for continuing students. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following Data queries and reports that are related to the recruitment, admission and conversion of students. Data reports that are related to the recruitment of graduate students, including I-20 support for international students. Management of data that is used for the marketing and informational campaigns . The selected candidate will be expected to Leverage Slate software technologies to build slate instancequeries for various mail and email campaigns that are sent to prospective and admitted students and their parents. Create an access database that is used for admission packet tracking purposes. Use SIS as a super user to extract undergraduate and graduate reports and datasets. These reports are used for marketing and recruitment to prospective, admitted and current students. Create AdHoc reports for admission related data queries used by departments throughout the university using SQL and Slate. Providing reports to the Provost Office to maintain the current student parent database. Create and maintain reports for USCrsquos International Offices to ensure their ability to communicate with prospective and admitted students. Use of PE (person entity) to build views in Oracle SQL to connect data to Campaign Enterprise. Be Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and applications. Have demonstrated experience with ODBC data querying tools such as MYSQL, SQL, etc. Experience using one or more of the following Tableau, IBM Cognos, IBM Cognos TM1, etc. In alignment with university services, this position ensures proper data integrity that permit the successful launch of all communications campaigns, including direct mail, outreach, community relations, safety concerns, marketing and conversion events.
