If you have 1-3 years of customer service experience, have worked in automotive, industrial, marine, conveyor, or other parts organizations, and are driven to help increase sales and improve efficiencies, then our Parts Support Representative position might be the opportunity for youThe Parts Support Representative is responsible for growing our parts business volume by developing strong relationships with existing customers while being a problem solver and a supportive partner.
The successful applicant will provide a high level of service efficiency, attention to detail, responsiveness, and timeliness to ensure that a consistent, professional level of service is provided to our parts customers.
Responsibilities include:Fulfilling customer parts requests, including pick-up and deliveryUsing parts manuals, online schematics, online parts resources, and other sources to identify needed partsSourcing parts through various established networksAssisting in the creation of new target account prospect lists with managementTracking and maintaining parts inventoryAnswering incoming emails and calls from customers as the first step in the order entry cycleGathering information about customer needs and processing customer orders immediatelyAssisting in resolving any customer issues and escalating when necessaryInteracting with Abel Womack service technicians and customers in a positive, responsive manner to fulfill parts ordersKeeping customers and/or internal service team members apprised of current order statusWorking with internal departments to resolve shipping/billing discrepancies, returns, etc.Routine travel throughout Long Island and Bronx utilizing a company vehicleOther related duties.RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent1-3 years’ experience in a customer service positionExcellent telephone and in-person communication skillsExcellent internal and external customer service skillsAbility to read parts manuals/schematics requiredAbility to transcribe parts numbers accurately and to eventually retain parts numbers for speedMechanical aptitude strongly desiredStrong typing skills and general computer knowledge required for online order entryMust be well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and use a computerLicensed or have the ability to be licensed to drive and operate forkliftsCurrent Driver’s license with a clean driving recordMust be able to lift 75 pounds without assistanceBenefitsAbel Womack offers a competitive benefits package which includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield Medical and Dental, matching 401(k), Vision benefits, Flexible Spending Accounts, life and disability insurance, profit sharing and more.
