Job Details
Our fast-growing construction company is seeking a Permanent Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Commercial Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating the cost of commercial construction projects, including multifamily and podium buildings. The ideal candidate will have experience in multifamily construction and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including multifamily and podium buildings.
- Review and analyze construction plans, specifications, and other project documents to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and availability of materials and services.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other project-related activities as needed.
- Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Provide ongoing support to project teams throughout the construction process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience as a commercial construction estimator, with a focus on multifamily and podium buildings.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Proficient in using construction estimating software, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or ProEst.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential issues and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
