Administrative Services and Facilities comprises several groups supporting corporate office operations for First Republic, including Facilities, Corporate Purchasing, Mail Room, Reception, and Architectural Design & Development.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Manager, Construction is responsible for management and oversight of the construction activities of multiple sites including Preferred Banking Offices and corporate offices throughout the United States.

Responsible for driving company value by delivering top-notch project performance, bringing our projects in on time, on budget, with the requisite brand, quality and safety specifications.

Skilled at establishing relationships and working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic team environment with multiple projects and priorities. 
 
What you’ll do as a Manager, Construction: 
 

– Works closely with the VP, Head of Construction and project team for all scope, budget, costs, design and construction related items and issues for the life cycle of the project. 

– Manage all construction build-outs, renovations, remodels, and expansions, working closely with the Facilities & Administrative Services team to coordinate various aspects of the projects.

– Responsible for handling multiple projects across all regions requiring effective interaction and coordination with other project team members, internal company business partners, and external parties. 

– Coordinates on-site surveys of new and remodel projects.

Works closely with the Facilities team in all regions to identify scope and scheduling of PBO refresh projects based on quarterly site surveys.

– Manage bid and contract process with General Contractors and sub-contractors as applicable for all projects working closely with VP, Head of Construction to get appropriate contracts signed.

– Maintains and tracks budget and schedule through entire project life cycle, and communicates major project milestones to Facilities management.

– Responsible for each project’s completion according to the company’s standards for quality, time, cost, and overall strategy.

– Use construction expertise to ensure building systems are designed in most efficient manner, working collaboratively with Architectural development and design team to implement brand standards and cost efficiencies in creation of drawings.

– Conducts regular field inspections on assigned projects, ensuring contractors’ compliance with contract documents and takes necessary corrective action to ensure objectives are achieved. 

– Schedules and approves equipment and fixture setup activities to ensure timely occupancy including: delivery and installation of equipment, utility connections, network setup, furniture installation, final setup of spaces, and receipt of all required occupancy licenses prior to move-in.

– Works closely with Facilities for all space and move management tasks related to a new PBO or office opening.

– Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with all vendors, including but not limited to Landlords / Property Managers, General Contractors and subcontractors, furniture providers, equipment suppliers, etc.

– Works in a collaborative fashion with internal colleagues, particularly the Architectural Design & Development, Facilities teams, and key business partners.

– Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

You could be a great fit if you have: 

– 5+ years of experience in construction and project management roles with successively increasing responsibilities and a track record of success.

– Experience in facilities management, current industry best practices and standards.

– Exceptional project management skills.

– Ability to handle multiple projects, work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities and adapt to change.

– High attention to detail. 

– Strong and proactive communicator.

– Demonstrate ability to partner and work collaboratively with internal and external partners.

– Demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment. 

– Must possess strong analytical skills, conflict management skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues. 

– Thorough knowledge of and ability to read and understand construction drawings and furniture plans.

– Proficient with construction software and AutoCAD.

 
Job Demands: 

– Must be able to review and analyze data reports and manuals; must be computer proficient. 

– Must be able to travel as position requires, and be on call after-hours for emergencies.

– May be required to lift 25-50 lbs. 

– Must be flexible on work schedule.

Working on weekends will be required from time to time.
