1-Year Contract Assembler
– Electronics I.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION Assemble mechanical and electrical assemblies, subassemblies and top assemblies of mild to most complex product line and be able to solder.

JOB COMPETENCIES * Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.

* Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.

* Crimps, stakes, scores, bolts, rivets, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, etc.

* Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.

* Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering, thermo-compression, or related bonding procedures and equipment.

* Assembles and attaches hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.

* Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies.

* Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.

* May perform assembly operations such as bonding/wiring strain gages under microscope or other magnifying device.

* Must be able to perform tedious work from time to time with a microscope.

* Proactively identifies best practices * Ability to perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate if needed.

* Perform cross training when required.

* Reject and reports discrepant materials.

* Adhere to operational procedures and ensure tooling is in calibration before use.

* Maintain clean and safe work area.

Adhere to all safety rules and regulations * Other duties as assigned.

May be temporarily reassigned to cover workload in other areas of production as necessary.

Basic Qualifications: * High School diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.

* 4 years’ experience in manufacturing * 2 years’ experience soldering, through-hole and surface mount soldering experience.

* Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) certification * No relocation benefit is offered for this position.

Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA facility will be considered for this position.

* Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

* This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

* Will consider for employment, qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the FCIHO Position Criteria * Ability to push, pull and lift up to 25 lbs.

* Ability to read and write English * Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.

* Understanding of blueprints.

* Computer proficiency.

* Able to read and understand component values, polarity, wire gauges, and orientation.

* Able to understand bill of materials, assembly instructions and assembly drawings.

* Ability to complete appropriate production paperwork.

Preferred Qualifications: * Aerospace experience * Lock wire and safety wire experience * Experience in set-up and use of XY plotter, oscilloscopes, and pressure transducer
