Position Objective: Under general supervision, to perform skilled and specialized work operating machines related to the assembly and production of air filters.

Machine Operator Iis the trainee and first working level in the series.

Incumbents initially work under close supervision learning and performing more routine functions related to air filter assembly.

As experience is gained incumbents perform a broader range of duties and are normally advanced to the Machine Operator II level after one year.

This individual must work well with others and thrive in an environment that requires the ability to handle consistent, rapid change, a variety of activities and assisting other areas in production as assigned.

Key Responsibilities: Set up machinery to the required setting for the product scheduled to be produced Test run products after changing set-ups Operate specialty machinery to fabricate, manufacture, or assemble filters Safely use equipment with all guarding and controls in place; report any unsafe or non-productive equipment to the Line Lead immediately Make sure that the correct raw materials are being used for the products scheduled to be produced and they are of good quality Conduct spot checks to identify flaws or verify production quality Maintain safety and housekeeping in the work area: always turning off machinery, wiping down the machine with rags, scrap up glue, sweeping, and removing trash Perform other tasks as assigned Business: The scope of responsibilities includes operations at the Hudson facility This position is located in Hudson, NY USA Business size approximately 100 employees Stakeholder Interactions: Leadership within facility AAF/Flanders leadership team members, support function personnel, expatriate personnel Human Resources and Manufacturing Technical Requirements Describe the technical knowledge and experience required to accomplish the job duties and responsibilities Must have basic math skills Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16″ Experience with H uman M achine I nterface Training/Knowledge/Experience: Describe minimum experience requirements necessary to accomplish the job duties and responsibilities.
