Guided by the Holy Spirit, we work in service to and in collaboration with parishes, schools, and organizations to evangelize and catechize, offer witness and service, lead worship and give pastoral care to all of God’s people to advance the saving mission of Christ.JOB SUMMARY:The __Administrative Assistant____________ is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a variety of program services aimed at meeting the goals and objectives of the Office of Black Catholic Ministries and the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

The staff is responsible for maintaining the basic functions of the office and its programs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:?

Implements the Archdiocese’s mission and philosophy as it relates to the goals of the program and staff.?

Works with staff, volunteers, clergy, religious, and lay ministers in a Ministry of Presence and outreach.?

Motivates, inspirers and promotes a collaborative spirit in creating a unified and spiritually caring culture.?

Respects and promotes a healthy intra and inter-community spiritual life among program constituents and staff.?

Maintains a process of spiritual reflection within our properties.?

Ensures that adequate program services are available to the constituents, and serves as point of contact for certain program events as requested by the director.?

Serves as editor for the office newsletter.?

Oversees all aspects of general office coordination including routine correspondence, appointments and email in coordination with the director.?

Evolves the program’s mission with community outreach as appropriate.?

Participates in personal professional learning opportunities and exhibits professional ethics and leadership.?

Monitors and maintains email contact database and the Black & Indian Mission Grant.?

Monitors and maintains the organization’s website.?

Works as a part of a team, as well as completes assignments independently.?

Maintains a professional, compassionate and welcoming attitude towards staff, volunteers, visitors, and program recipients.?

Maintains personal dress and appearance appropriate for this position.?

Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:?

Use of Technology platforms including electronic communications, data-system record-keeping & report writing.?

Able to work effectively in a team, build consensus, and work with all stakeholders of the programs.?

Works well autonomously within guidance and feedback of supervisor.?

Able to initiate endeavors as appropriate, with program outcomes as focus of objectives.?

Works within National/International Church guidelines for program.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:?

Must have experience at an Administrative Assistant level including budget and asset allocations.?

Preference will be given to those who follow the tenets of our Catholic faith.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:?

2-5 years’ experience, or equivalent experience in relevant programs of an Office Manager/Administrative Assistant.?

High school diploma
