Administrative Nursing Supervisor – Nursing Administration

Job Title: Administrative Nursing Supervisor Job Summary: A Registered Nurse who has shift supervisor responsibility for the clinical and administrative management of the nursing units.

Participates in hospital and nursing committees, also participates in Performance Improvement projects.

Responsible for leading / participating in Bed Board meetings and in providing leadership during Disasters.

Serves in the capacity of hospital administration in the absence of management.

Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer Essential Job Duties:
Supervises patient care activities, significant patient care issues and acts to advocate in patients interest according to hospital policy and regulatory requirements Coordinates staffing needs with Directors / Managers and monitors unit staffing to ensure that patient acuity levels, census and ratios are met including flexing of staff when appropriate Demonstrates ability to prioritize patient care problems and determine nursing interventions utilizing critical thinking in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, acceptable standards of practice and regulatory standards Serves as a role model for the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization and fulfills other job duties as requested within Scope of Practice Maintains current competencies as well as updated knowledge in specific area of practice

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree preferred Minimum of 2 years of current experience in acute hospital care
Licensure/Certifications:
Current RN in good standing with California Board of Nursing Current BLS for Healthcare provider card Current ACLS for Healthcare provider card PALS, AB508 as required per patient population
