Administrative Assistant- Transportation

Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: This is a front-line operations role that is accountable for freight order data entry, appointment scheduling, and trip monitoring as well as working directly with our Customer Account Managers to develop customer relationships, monitor daily customer activity, and fill in as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (These are core competencies required for the position)Work effectively and professionally in a fast-paced team environmentDemonstrate attention to detail when performing creation of customer profiles and entry of ordersObtain pickup and delivery appointments that will provide efficient use of driver hours of serviceProactively monitor shipments to ensure customer service expectations are achievedAssist Customer Account Manager in accurately completing billing items, EDI and scorecard reportingTake initiative to resolve shipment delays or scheduling challenges with internal and external customersIdentify and share best practices/ process improvements with teammatesAssist with coverage of other duties or accounts as neededProvide daily business updates to Customer Account Manager and/or other leaders to ensure service expectations are in lineTrack and resolve unbilled orders to ensure timely payment is made to the CompanyPerforms other related duties as assignedRequirementsKNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE KEY COMPETENCIES:HS diploma, college degree preferredExcellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail, strong work ethic, high energy, and a positive attitudeConfident, self-motivated and results driven individual who thrives in a fast paced environmentStrong PC, phone and organization skillsAbility to type at least 40 WPMAbility to prioritize your workload and thrive in a fast-paced environmentPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
