We are seeking to add an administrative assistant to our Ethnic Studies Department:
Responsibilities:
- Acts as Scheduling Coordinator by handling room assignments, issues/conflicts, and builds schedules into systems
- Interprets and disseminates curriculum and staffing information to departments; coordinates and monitors course and program modifications and proposals; reviews curricular documents for accuracy, format, and consistency
- Prepares minutes and agendas. Performs duties as College Liaison for planning and implementation of College annual events.
- Facilitates and coordinates the flow to the College departments on University and College policies and procedures governing curriculum and scheduling.
- Prepares memos for the Associate Dean’s approval; maintains the Associate Dean’s calendar, scheduling appointments, meetings, and events. Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment
- Two years of progressively responsible experience providing day-to-day administration of academic affairs or related program, and/or performing a variety of administrative and technical
- Must be able to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; have knowledge of MS Word; have excellent customer service skills.
- Must be flexible to deal with changing priorities; able to rapidly become familiar with the program areas assigned.
- Must be diligent in performing all tasks in a timely manner.
Desired Qualifications:
Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Windows, and Excel. Experience and working knowledge of PeopleSoft Student Administration /GET and Curriculog.
