Morrison Express is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team in El Segundo, CA.

Location: 2000 S Hughes Way, El Segundo, CA 90245

Schedule: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position working Monday – Friday within normal business hours.

Salary Range: $26 – $30

As the Staff Accountant, you will perform complex general professional and technical accounting work. You will hold responsibility for completing payables and receivables, expense management, vendor reconciliation, billing and customer support, and supporting month-end and year-end processes.

We are looking for someone with proven experience in accounts payables, receivables, and transactions and with strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance. You will need to have strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively, and be an exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

What You Will Be Doing in Your Day to Day:

Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
Pays vendors by monitoring payment schedules, preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
Responsible for issuing stop-payments.
Assist with Ad-Hoc task requested by managers or directors.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries
Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing accounts receivables data.
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Send weekly AR aging to account owners, DMs, and customers.
Knowledge of customer contracts to ensure correct and accurate billing.
Working closely with the AO’s, OM’s and DM’s to make sure customer invoices are sent on time and past due invoices are collected in timely manner
Supporting Month End, Year- End and audit processing by posting journal entries and pulling out supporting documents.
Other duties as assigned by management.

What We Look for in Our Teammates:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
1-3 years of experience as a staff accountant.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
Time management and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to interact with various levels.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Highly motivated individual with ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
Firsthand experience with a major ERP system.
