Responsible for overseeing the accounting and cash management operations for GOAT Group, the Accounting team is essential to each department and their respective business goals.
The team collaborates with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the financial health of the company through accurate and timely reporting, advising on business decisions, and ensuring payments to all parties arrive on time.

We are looking for a Technical Accounting Manager to join the Accounting Department at GOAT.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting, this position will be tasked with taking on the accounting for technical/non-routine areas as well as playing a substantial role in our SOX readiness program.
This position will also provide technical advisory support to the broader accounting team and work cross-functionally as a valuable member contributing to the Company’s maturation process.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who will be our technical accounting subject matter expert.
In this role you will:
- Work cross functionally with key stakeholders across the organization to identify and properly account for transactions.
Analyze accounting issues and prepare memorandums based on research and analysis of authoritative and interpretative guidance.
- Provide advisory support to finance as well as our business partners on new initiatives and complex transactions.
- Utilize technical expertise to assess and recommend deal structures and contract terms.
- Research and document positions on non-routine accounting matters.
- Assess existing accounting policies and recommend changes to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Monitor the development of new accounting standards, including their potential impact on the financial statements.
Lead implementation of new accounting standards, including implementation of new processes, systems, and training programs.
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Assist with interfacing with the Company’s external auditors on key technical areas.
- Account for stock-based compensation; including maintaining master data, accounting for modifications, recording quarterly expense, and documenting quarterly disclosure.
We are looking for:
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience; 4+ years of public accounting and 2+ years of public company experience in a similar role preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required (Finance, Accounting, Economics, preferred).
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP US GAAP and ability to apply extensive know-how of technical accounting standards.
- Experience with growth companies in technology, consumer products, or footwear and apparel industries.
- Strong leadership, decision making, and technical skills.
- Experience designing and implementing new accounting policies, procedures and controls.
- Positive attitude and open mindset, not afraid to roll up your sleeves
- Experience should include advanced accounting concepts such as revenue recognition, business combinations and stock-based compensation.
- Ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare well-written memorandums and presentations articulating these matters to both well versed accountants and non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience with reviewing complex legal contracts and evaluating business and accounting implications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
