Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
The Staff Accountant will assist the Controller and Accounting Manager in all areas of financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting systems, practices, and procedures to produce accurate and timely financial statements and management reports. The Staff Accountant will be required to meet stringent deadlines in a variety of accounting and financial activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end tax preparation, and budgeting/forecasting support. This position requires excellent verbal and written communications and superior interpersonal skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Gain and proliferate a full understanding of specific financial reporting and general ledger structures.
• Ensure accurate and timely daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing procedures.
• Lead activities related to the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
• Assist the Controller and Accounting manager with daily reporting and activities
• Complete all monthly and quarterly financial reporting and bank compliance activities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform budget and forecasting activities.
• Analyze departmental activities to develop more efficient procedures and utilization of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Promptly respond to inquiries from Owners, Controller, and Department Managers regarding profit/loss statements, special financial reports, and other information.
• Recommend the development and implementation of new policies and procedures aimed at workflow and process improvements.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field highly preferred
•2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping
