About this position Your role as a Small Business Accountant / Client Accounting Services Professional is to help our clients with their client accounting needs and to work with business owners to clean up and maintain their accounting.

Additionally, you will have opportunities to perform small business consulting such as helping streamline the clients accounting, improve processes, identify areas that can be automated by our QBO technologist, evaluate fraud prevention controls and more.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties Work on multiple clients performing a full breadth of accounting support duties ranging from Full charge management accounting solely performing the month end close (small business outsourced Controller) Accounting support duties which may include but not be limited to transaction entries (e.g.

sales), accounts payables and receivables, accruals (if/as needed), using an automated AP workflow system, etc Performing all or selected regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and retained earnings roll forwards If needed assist client with use of an outsourced payroll system and related matters (for example W-2s, etc) Various compliance filings (for example 571s, 1099s, etc) Under guidance and direction of our Client Accounting Services (CAS) manager, assist in automating small business client accounting workflows Follow all company internal control methods, guidance and direction Utilize primarily QuickBooks and QBO (as the primary client-used accounting system) and on special circumstances other accounting systems as needed Although most client accounting work can be done remote, some of the small business consulting work requires on site effort which may involve travel to any So Cal office area and occasionally the need for overnight stays (if/as needed) Interact well with clients, CBIZ tax staff and CBIZ Client Accounting & Advisory Services team Additional responsibilities as assigned Preferred Qualifications Experience successfully stepping in to accounting clean up situations Previous experience with outsourced accounting on multiple clients is helpful but not required Four year degree helpful but not required Prefer but not required CPA,CMA also helpful but not required Experience in biotech, technology, real estate and light manufacturing all a plus QBDT, and QBO Certifications are helpful but not required upon hiring but may be required within 12 months of hiring Minimum Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED required along with 2 years of full charge bookkeeping experience Exceptional customer relations skills and a track record of working well with others Ability to manage time and deadlines effectively Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of both CBIZ and our clients Proficient use of applicable systems and ability to learn as technology changes Quickly learn and navigate different accounting programs Strong management accounting (accrual based) / bookkeeping skills REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONIf you are a qualified individual with a disabilityyou may request reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access this site as a result of your disability.
