Role
Splunk is looking for an individual to join its Go To Market (GTM) Sales and Operations finance team. Come join a dynamic team and have an impact on Spunk’s fast growing business. This position reports into the Director of Sales Support and Operations Finance and will act as a business partner across Sales and GTM Operations teams. You will partner closely across the FP&A team and with your business partners to plan and prioritize resource allocation supporting the company’s operational initiatives. Candidates will have outstanding partnership and communication skills, handle multiple priorities, possess deep attention to detail, an unrelenting drive to get to the answer, and the ability to thrive in the ambiguity and open space that comes in a fast-growing organization. Candidates will be required to have mastery of Excel with excellent modeling and data manipulation skills.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
- You will perform monthly Close duties, develop annual operating plans, quarterly and monthly financial forecasts, and ongoing analysis of actuals versus plan and/or forecast
- You will collaborate with key stakeholders to provide decision making support and forward looking analysis of risks and opportunities.
- You will monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends, providing recommendations for improvement, and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.
- You will prepare management reporting / dashboards – analyze results, distill/synthesize business performance indicators, assess business risk and operating performance, and timely communicate risks and opportunities to management
- You will partner across the team to leverage best practices to maximize team productivity.
Requirements: I’ve already done that or have that!
- 5 years of progressive finance experience, with a strong preference for those with prior experience in Financial Planning & Analysis in a software/SaaS business.
- Strong forecasting methods and techniques. Advanced analytical and quantitative abilities. Able to manipulate large amounts of data and summarize key outputs.
- Capable of communicating complex financial information in an easy to understand format.
- Collaboratively-focused and able to work well with others in a fast-paced and ever changing business.
- Comfortable completing projects requiring individual initiative and flexibility in tight time frames with minimal supervision.
- Strong financial acumen broadly across the organization (e.g., understanding of financial statements, chart of accounts, business intelligence, FP&A processes, journal entries, accounting, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Excel.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics
