Summary:

Under the direction of the CFO & CAO the Cost Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial records and budgets of diverse account analysis. Most essential duties will also involve carrying out cost accounting closing functions on a daily and weekly basis while developing and analyzing general ledger and statements of finances every month.

All employees are responsible to follow all of Nutrition Corp. protocols of Food Safety.

Essential Functions:

Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by brand
Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cost of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor
Analyze changes on in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
Inventory control including development and implementation of cycle count process
Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward, and general ledger account analysis
In partnership with Operations, develop and implement hours control labor planning and reporting processes
Maintaining Cost Accounting System
Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls to ensure integrity of financial reporting and safeguarding of assets
Continuously evaluate ways to streamline and improve finance department processes
Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts
Assist with reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, and others
Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management
Provides economic payback analysis for proposed product changes, including packaging changes product line extensions product category extensions, and new products
Provide financial and operational analysis for supported departments/teams in a timely manner and explain how their actions impacted results, and suggest process, improvements to enhance efficiencies, and reduce waste
Work on various other accounting projects as requested
Provide ad hoc analyses and projections as needed

. Requirements:

Critical Skills:

Food industry experience a plus
SAP experience preferred
5+ years of accounting experience
3+ years cost accounting experience
Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes
Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gatherings and analysis
Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
Microsoft Office skillset across Excel, Word and Powerpoint

While performing duties, the employee will work in an office setting with a fast-past environment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee regularly sits for a long period of time, use of hands, fingers, talk and hear.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday-Friday and hours schedule are open to discuss with the CFO & CAO for a set schedule.

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting or finance
