We are seeking a Senior Accountant in our Pasadena office.

The incumbent will be a highly skilled individual who is highly detail oriented, works well in a team oriented environment, and is proficient in technical US GAAP Accounting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Will employ a number of duties in the areas of accounting, project support, and a variety of administrative duties, including but not limited to the following: Accounting Operations Manage the day-to-day accounting for the assigned portfolio of commercial real estate Joint Venture properties such as: Analyze Property Income Statements and Balance Sheets monthly trends Prepare tenant recovery and rental revenue variance explanations Reconcile general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers/supporting schedules Perform monthly bank reconciliations Record monthly journal entries Review and approve property related invoices Act as a liaison between Accounting and the Asset Services teams to provide Accounting and financial analyses support, including but not limited to, providing information for property operating results and leasing data, reviewing property operating budgets, and resolving tenant inquiries as it relates to Accounting Assist with the preparation of JV analytics for the monthly and quarterly Accounting Reporting package for executive management review Prepare quarterly and annual debt compliance packages Assist with research on technical accounting matters such as consolidation accounting, lease accounting, and project cost accounting Participate in ad-hoc projects such as process improvement projects, internal and external audit requests, department goals and initiatives, and other special projects Investor Relations Act as a liaison between Alexandria and Joint Venture Partners and maintain partnership relationship including, but not limited to, providing prompt response to financial statement inquiries, operational inquiries, and ad-hoc requests Present executive management and Joint Venture Partners with cash flow projections and manage capital account funding requirements and distributions Coordinate and review annual budgets with asset services team Liaise between external stakeholders in Joint Venture investments Financial Reporting Prepare monthly JV partner reporting packages, including financial analytics, fluctuation analysis, operational overviews, executive summaries Prepare stand-alone audited financial statements, including preparing statement of cash flows, drafting financial statement footnotes, and coordinating with external auditors, Joint Venture Partners, and management to complete the audited financial statements timely Stay up-to-date with new accounting pronouncements and assist with providing summary of impact to Joint Ventures financial statements Provide financial reporting support for the preparation of the Companys 10Q/10K SEC filings and quarterly Supplemental reporting Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration CPA preferred 3 years of Accounting experience required Public Accounting experience is highly preferred Public commercial real estate experience preferred Proficient in Technical US GAAP Accounting Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills Experience in financial statement preparation and general ledger accounting Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels including, but not limited to HQ/field personnel, senior management, and outside parties Proficient in business related software: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
