Senior Accountant-Full Time AgeWell New York is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team of professionals at our offices in Lake Success, NY.Conveniently located on the Queens/Long Island border, AgeWell New York is a managed care plan with diverse product lines rooted in the communities and culture of the New York metropolitan area.
We stand ready to serve our members with dedicated professionals, expert staff, support resources and comprehensive care coordination to ensure our members optimize their health care coverage.In this role, you will be primarily responsible for supervision of the Accounts Payable and Member Account Specialist staff and the management of the daily activities of the Finance department.
This includes monthly close process and preparation of internal financial statements.
The Senior Accountant will also be cross trained to serve as the back-up to the Accounting Manager.Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum two years’ of demonstrated experience in a company’s Accounting/Finance DepartmentProficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with Microsoft Access and/or SQL Server preferredExperience with ADL General Ledger System, SmartLinx Payroll System or Care Compass Care Management software a plusStrong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlinesAbility to work under pressure, deal with stress and adapt to frequent interruptions and changing situationsExcellent communication skills both verbal and written, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and a strong team playerExperience in Healthcare industry preferredMedicaid Managed Care Operating Report (MMCOR) and Medicare cost reporting experience is a plusIn exchange, this position offers competitive compensation, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, free parking and more.
