Senior Accountant

REMOTE AND HYBRID SCHEDULESPOSITION SUMMARYAssociation Headquarters is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant proficient in multi-tasking.

Much like a public accounting function, the Senior Accountant is responsible for month-end general ledger closing and financial statement preparation for multiple client partners.

Our ideal candidate would come with public accounting experience and familiarity with working on multiple accounts.

For each of the multiple clients, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of the accounting services being the main point of contact for Account Executives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview work of staff and junior accountants for accuracy and completenessReview the work done by the clerks for accuracy (A/P & A/R edit lists)Ownership of the entire monthly close process for assigned clientsRecognizing job priorities and organizing work accordinglyProduction of a complete set of financial statements
– Balance Sheet, Income Statement & Cash FlowAnalyze and reconcile Balance Sheet and P accountsReconcile InvestmentsPrepare cash flow analysis, projections, and various ad hoc reports requested by managementDraft appropriate informational footnotes and provide Executive Directors with a detailed analysis of financial performanceWork with client teams to provide value-added insight from the financial perspectiveAssist with budget preparationAssist with year-end auditsManaging client accounting services for multiple clientsDevelopment and mentoring of junior staff QUALIFICATIONSPerforming all tasks accurately and timelySuccessfully meets deadlinesProactively alerts Supervisors to challenges or concerns related to the delivery of serviceProactively suggests solutions to challenges encounteredEffectively self-reviews work product and produces limited errorsPays attention to detailMaintain a professional manner and attitudeStrong skills in organization, prioritization, and time managementAdvance knowledge in Excel is a plusGreat Plains Experience is a plusEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED PROFICIENCIESBachelor’s degree is required and a minimum of 4-6 years of related industry experience in a public accounting firm with not-for-profit experience or larger not-for-profit accounting experience.
