Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Candidates and recent experience must come from the State of California!
- BA or BS in Accounting
- CPA Preferred but not required
- Recent experience must be in the State of California;
- Minimum of 2-years of recent TAX or AUDIT accounting experience working for a CPA firm in the state of California;
- For tax focus candidates, experience with business entity income tax issues (planning, structure, taxation, etc);
- For audit focus candidates, experience in Low Income Housing preferred.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment;
- Experience with AdvanceFlow, ProSystem fx and GoFileRoom preferred;
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interface with all levels of firm management, staff, clients, and outside business contacts;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Integrity and honesty, motivated and dedicated, detail-oriented, team-oriented, strong work ethic, positive attitude, polite, and approachable;
- Willingness to learn.
Job Requirements:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities – Tax Focus:
- Prepare advanced income tax returns for individuals, trusts and business entities;
- Review income tax returns prepared by tax associates for individuals, trusts, and various business entities;
- Mentor tax preparers through the review process;
- Research complex tax issues and prepare summaries and recommendations;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities – Audit Focus:
- Prepare, review, and/or audit compilation procedures utilizing AdvanceFlow software;
- Manage & mentor accounting professionals and assistants overseeing accounting work, reviewing work papers and completing compilations;
- Manage client engagements with an emphasis on communication, timeliness and quality;
- Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness;
- Prepare state and federal income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, non-profits and individuals using ProSystem fx;
- Complete assignments timely;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
