The Company:
A private equity real estate owner seeking a Senior Accountant – reporting to the Accounting Manager and Chief Financial Officer. Their tenant portfolio includes several leading global companies with over $3 billion in assets under management. Due to continued success with investors, the company is currently launching its first industrial fund.
The Role:
The Accounting Senior will report directly to the Accounting Manager and have exposure to several elements of the company outside of the “traditional month end close process”; including the corporate budget process, treasury functions, investor reporting, and lender reporting. All property accounting is completed by third-party property managers and the Accounting Senior will have some interaction with these teams from time to time.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete the monthly corporate financial reporting package, including:
- Closing of the accounting records in Yardi
- Bank reconciliations
- Intercompany allocations
- Budget to actual comparison
- Prepare and update quarterly corporate budgets
- Prepare quarterly investor distributions analysis, including key performance metrics
- Assist with year-end audits of financial statements and related investor / lender reporting
Additional Projects:
- The company is a very active and is experiencing strong growth – there will be opportunities to interact with and support other teams outside of the accounting department. Some examples include:
- Review of potential tenants’ financial statements for credit worthiness
- Research of property taxes in new jurisdictions of acquisitions
- Onboarding of new investors’ reporting requirements and wire instructions
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree with a focus on accounting, finance, or economics
- Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in corporate and/or real estate accounting
- Yardi experience a plus
