Wealth Management, Segment Risk Executive Director

The position will directly report to the Head of Segment Risk and co-report to the Head of IIS.

The candidate will be responsible for the continued development and oversight of the MSFO and IIS risk platforms, and will focus on delivering a premier shared service model to institutional clients serviced by these businesses.

This is a multi-faceted role and will require the candidate to lead projects from inception to completion, manage the MSFO and IIS risk teams, identify and size opportunities/problems and engage with senior leadership across multiple business lines in both the Home Office and Field.

We are seeking a motivated candidate with a strong strategic mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, proven experience in a risk and business strategy and a solid understanding of the wealth management business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide day-to-day lead risk coverage to the MSFO and IIS businesses Continue with the design and implementation of the risk control environment for the MSFO and IIS businesses Manage the individual MSFO and IIS risk coverage heads Lead the risk organization’s support of MSFO and IIS on large-scale and complex work-streams including: conceptualizing project scope, timelines, and dependencies; tracking and reporting of key milestones; and engaging/influencing project stakeholders Conduct primary and secondary research to define complex business problems and develop both tactical and strategic solutions Prepare and deliver persuasive, data-driven arguments and presentations to senior management to allow for informed strategic decision-making e solutions
– and detail-oriented and quickly turnaround high-quality work without sacrificing speed or accuracy Oversee the development of policies and procedures tailored to the MSFO and IIS businesses QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 10 years of industry experience in wealth management or investment products Prior experience working in a compliance, legal or risk management function Prior capital markets experience, institutional consulting experience, and operational risk experience a plus Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to define complex business problems, synthesize data, and provide and execute on tactical and strategic solutions Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a manager of a team, and under strict and changing deadlines Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and work ethic Strong project management, organizational, communication, and analytical skills A track record of success and a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and discretion Securities licenses (e.g., Series 7, and 8 or 24) required or to be obtained after taking the role
