Senior Accountant
Knight Insurance Group, a privately-owned property & casualty Insurance company with total assets of over $1.7 billion, has an exciting opportunity for a career-minded, detailed oriented individual to join a progressive and entrepreneurial insurance company with a friendly but fast-paced work environment.
This position is responsible for assisting with daily statutory accounting duties with investment, reinsurance, premium accounting, and financial reporting.
Job Description:
Assist Manager with daily operations of the accounting department including investment management, account reconciliations and analyses, journal entries, and reviewing accounting classifications, in accordance with US GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
Help to improve financial reporting, finance, and reinsurance processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data including written premiums, losses, and investments and reinsurance, ensuring best practices; Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal Strong interpersonal skills to work efficiently and effectively with other members of the team and should be able to communicate successfully with managing general agents and reinsurance partners Demonstrate a positive attitude, dedicated, responsible, hard-working team player Works well under pressure, accepts responsibility for own actions, and follows through on commitments
Job Requirements:
3 + years of Big 4 public auditing/accounting or equivalent experience.
Understanding of applicable accounting rules and regulations.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting and experience with full-cycle accounting.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent Experience in Statutory Accounting.
Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills for handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Expert level of proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
