Project Control Analyst

A role which features a mix of Project Finance and Project Accounting, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the financial integrity and contractual obligations of Federal projects.

This employee will be responsible for working closely with Federal project team to support project lifecycle financials by providing financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting of the performance of projects.

This person will ensure the project fulfills all contractual obligations and that the project activity is accounted for properly each month.

In addition, this role will support the business by providing full P&L reporting, working with task/department owners to update project forecasts, and providing oversight on the balance sheet for their programs.

This position will need to work with the program manager and delivery team to provide reporting and analysis by contract/project.

The selected candidate will also provide support for internal and external audit requests.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to read and understand contracts as well as gather, track, analyze, and report metrics relating to key initiatives and projects.

This position will be required to develop and provide consolidated reporting for multiple projects for Federal Sub business line as well.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and prior exposure to accounting, reporting, and forecasting.

This role will also assist Controller to prepare monthly management reporting package and participate in forecast/budget preparation for entire Public Security Business Line.

Essential Job Functions (includes but is not limited to): Analyze and report financial information for assigned projects using GAAP and IFRS standards Maintain and update revenue and margin forecast based on analysis and input from the business Effectively communicates with Project Managers regarding contract documents, change orders, and approvals Ensures projects are set up accurately and timely so that revenue recognition is appropriate and internal controls are met Monitoring labor and materials purchased Ensures contract terms are followed Updates project information in the Olympic and Great Plains Accounting systems Identifies and communicates monthly P&L variances for budget and forecast Prepare revenue recognition and other journal entries to GL during month-end closing Actively lead P&L reviews with stakeholders Utilizes effective listening skills in order to understand project requests and implement creative solutions to support project requests as well as identify and communicate problems in a diplomatic fashion to Management and Project Managers Maintain detailed schedules of unbilled receivables Performs account reconciliations Respond to audit requests Assist preparing various monthly management reporting package Assist Budget and monthly forecast Ad Hoc projects Qualifications Project accounting experience a plus; Government accounting experience a plus; General Ledger analytical skills required Hyperion/BI/AI experience a plus Working knowledge/exposure to IFRS or US GAAP Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel pivot tables, tables, charts and formulas Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently Excellent customer service attitude and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong PC skills including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Ability to make timely and sound decisions Ability to work well with others under deadline situations respond to changes in priorities
