Joining Mercer’s Global Sustainable Investment (SI) team, the Global Sales & Strategy Consultant will be responsible for helping to grow Mercer’s Sustainable Investment presence and commercial success globally.   Working most closely with Mercer’s Global and Regional Sustainable Investment leaders, the Global consultant can be based out of any one of Mercer’s global SI team’s locations (Los Angeles, Boston, Vancouver, Toronto, London, Hong Kong, Sydney or Melbourne).

We will count on you to:

Mercer’s Global Sustainable Investment team sits within Mercer’s Wealth business and is considered the leading Sustainable Investment Consultants globally.  Working within this dynamic team, the Global Sales & Strategy Consultant will be required to:

•             Collaborate with local business leaders and SI leaders across Mercer Wealth, developing a sales and business development strategy that brings Mercer’s leadership position in SI to the local market.

•             Partner with Mercer marketing and communications specialists to promote Mercer’s SI capabilities and solutions globally.

•             Draft, review and refreshing all SI content for RFPs, proposals and pitches, working closely with SI team members globally.

•             Present and pitch to prospective clients on SI advice and solutions

•             Contribute, where appropriate, to Mercer’s SI intellectual capital development

•             Liaise with other teams within Mercer Wealth and across Mercer business segments to educate others about SI and succinctly present the SI team’s core service offerings.

In order to remain abreast of market developments, the SI Sales & Strategy consultant will also have some involvement on client consulting projects to ensure they have a firm understand of the implementation needs of our clients.

What you need to have:

•             Excellent interpersonal skills, including a team-oriented, positive mind-set that is expressed through strong oral, written and visual communication skills.

•             Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in SI or ESG or a related field,

•             A passion for sustainable investing

•             Experience in: i) writing successful proposals for sustainable investment (SI) and / or ESG services; and ii) presenting/pitching to prospective clients.

•             Ability to communicate complex current and emerging ESG trends and mega-themes (e.g. climate change, biodiversity and diversity & inclusion amongst others) in a clear and simple manner.

•             Comfort working independently as part of a global team through a strong sense of initiative and ability to share relevant information and expertise.

•             This is a global role and therefore will require someone who is comfortable working across cultures and time zones

•             Strong planning and organizational skills, to prioritize tasks and manage resources within a deadline oriented environment.

•             Ability to maintain a sustainable and healthy work-life balance.

•             Background in sustainable finance or investing

•             Excellent knowledge of Responsible Investment, ESG, Sustainability and an eagerness to learn and keep up to date with the industry and market conditions.
