Japanese Bilingual Accounting Manager 
Reports to: Director of Accounting
Location: Los Angeles, CA  (Downtown Los Angeles – Onsite/Hybrid)
FLSA: Exempt, Full-time

OVERVIEW:
The Accounting and Tax Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial operations. The duties and responsibilities include the accurate and timely preparation and analyses of all facets of the financial operations of the company, including financial statement preparation, cash management, budget preparation and analyses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and all other fiscally related duties. 
This position is expected to work closely with the accounting team at the U.S. operation as well as at Japan HQs on finance transactions and reporting. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
•             Manage timely and accurate month-/ quarter-/ annual- end closing process; complete and review balance sheet reconciliations and P&L account analysis, ensuring accounts are accurately recorded.
•             Prepare financial statements, bank reports, and various detailed analysis reports in accordance with the U.S. GAAP.
•             Review and analyze annual balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement for cash flow projections; direct and develop budgets, forecasts, and projections.
•             Prepare and file state and federal tax returns; work with tax professionals to participate in planning, research and compliance.
•             Keep abreast of upcoming accounting and tax regulatory and legislative developments, and design appropriate procedures accordingly.
•             Assess and adopt best practices to improve efficiency in accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of workflow process and system changes.
•             Establish and monitor internal controls over operations and accounting functions to ensure compliance in a SOX environment.
•             Collaborate with internal and external auditors to complete successful audit results and compliance.
•             Work with Japan HQs to support the global intercompany accounting process by completion and review of consolidated financial results. 
•             Perform other duties requested by Management.


QUALIFICATIONS:
•             Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
•             Minimum 7 years of accounting experience; 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
•             Bilingual Japanese and English skills (reading, writing and speaking). 
•             Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including functions such as VLOOK-UP, PIVOT, SUMIF, IFERROR, DSUM).
•             Experience with accounting and reporting software package (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle EB, Microsoft SAP).
•             Previous work experience in technology or service industry (preferred).
•             Ability to function independently and proactively in the fast-paced environment.
