The Investment Product Management Product Manager-Core demonstrates deep fixed income expertise and applies it in support of Capital Group’s (CG’s) core bond suite.

Works independently on standardized/recurring assignments as well as original product and market insights and more complex projects.

Plays a key role in developing and delivering product messaging for our core bond suite.

Engages with the Investment Directors and Investment Groups to foster understanding of investment strategies and with distribution partners to best articulate positioning within the marketplace.

You can develop deep understanding and act as lead IPM subject matter expert (SME) for CG’s core bond suite, in collaboration with Investment Directors (client-facing PMs)
You can serve as the primary resource to various internal groups (e.g., sales) and clients regarding product and investment strategy inquiries
You will participate in and, at times, lead projects related to product development, product messaging and product growth
You can have product development project responsibilities that may include competitive analysis, development of new value propositions, and/or partnering with the Investment Group to help design and articulate a new strategy
You can lead product messaging project efforts range from researching and recommending a different content framework across CG strategies to crafting large sales campaigns in partnership with sales and marketing associates
You can ensure information regarding our investment strategies is accurately represented
You may assist with product literature circulations (e.g., print, web) and recommend content changes to writers/content team as needed
You help identify product changes and enhancements (as it relates to investment strategy) to ensure relevant materials are updated
You assist with periodic review of product information in Request for Proposal responses and various third-party databases; provide net new responses content as needed
You perform original research, typically concerning a designated set of strategies, which entails data sourcing, analysis of data, and effective articulation of insights and conclusions
You can be responsible for written insights /reports for both internal and external audiences
You can utilize industry publications, industry databases (e.g., Morningstar Direct, eVestment, Bloomberg, Aladdin, FactSet), internal proprietary databases and additional internal resources as needed
You may manage or mentor more junior associates

You may have a suggested minimum 7 years of experience in fixed income investment-related roles with a preference towards experience with core bond strategies
You may have a suggested minimum 10 years of work experience, financial services sector preferred
You demonstrate in-depth knowledge of investment strategies, sales and marketing approach, and services offered and is able to apply it to work assignments. 
You exhibit knowledge in industry practices and trends and demonstrates ability to apply this knowledge to help promote and defend CG investment services.

You demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to adapt messaging to various audiences, including senior business leaders and clients
You have the ability to develop both product and project plans with little direction and to execute in a collaborative manner with attention to detail
You have strong analytical skills with the ability to develop recommendations and support assertions with relevant quantitative and qualitative data
You demonstrate initiative by identifying issues and recommending solutions
You have the ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team
You can demonstrate intellectual curiosity and strong analytical skills
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA charter, a plus
You may have occasional travel
FINRA licenses preferred (SIE, 7, 66) or willing to obtain
