Investment Banking Vice President, Equity Capital Markets- Technology

Group Description: The Jefferies Technology Equity Capital Markets (“Tech ECM”) group originates and executes public and private equity offerings, equity-linked financings, SPACs, PIPEs, and Capital Markets Advisory transactions for our global technology clients.

Our team partners with the firm’s investment banking professionals advising corporations, private companies, and financial sponsors globally on equity issuance and other aspects of the equity markets.

Tech ECM professionals are organized by sector, product and region and liaises with sales professionals, traders and research analysts in our global equities group.

The interaction between these groups provides us with excellent market intelligence, industry knowledge and execution capabilities.

Jefferies is consistently ranked as a leading underwriter of equities and is experienced in executing all equity products, and our Tech ECM effort has grown consistently and substantially over the past five years.

This individual will report directly to our Vice Chairman of Equity Capital Markets and will be embedded within our Technology Banking group.

Position: The Tech ECM team is actively looking for a Vice President for our San Francisco office.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Pitch and execute tech ECM transactions across the spectrum of products noted above
– Assist with strategic and financial analysis for preparation of pitch documentation and liaise with relevant investment banking and sales and trading teams
– Lead client meetings and drafting sessions
– Play an active role in the execution of mandated deals
– Examine the strategic and financial merits of proposed transactions for marketing purposes
– Maintain dialogue and relationships with existing ECM clients through continual marketing and advisory efforts with investment banking and financial sponsor teams
– Prepare and participate in the delivery of client presentations
– Compile and interpret a variety of financial analyses such as valuation, comparable company, and three statement operational/projection models
– Analyze business plans and participate in due diligence sessions
– Draft private and public marketing materials such as offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, etc.

– Manage and help develop associates and analysts Desired Skills and Experience
– Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Investment Banking experience
– MBA degree (or equivalent graduate degree) and 3 years of Investment Banking experience
– Prior Equity Capital Markets experience, preferably with focus on technology or growth sectors
– Ability to develop strong and productive relationships with clients, bankers, and investors Desired Experience/Skills:
– Extensive knowledge of financial modelling
– Excellent communication skills
– Ability to work independently as a self-starter
– Rigorous eye for detail
– Ability to efficiently teach, train, manage and work with team members
– Good time management and organizational skills
– Have a background or demonstrated interest in the technology sector
