Max Young with Robert Half Finance is looking for a Fund Accountant to join an industry leading private equity firm. With over $20B in transactions, our client is a proven leader with a portfolio across retail, technology, consumer goods, and more. In this role, the Fund Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, reviewing fund financials, bank reconciliations, reviewing valuation models, and supporting year-end audits. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the quarterly and annual close. Key responsibilities

– Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

– In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

– Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

– Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

– Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

– Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

– Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

– Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

– Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations

– Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

Job Requirements:

– 2+ years of audit experience at a national firm

– Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

– Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

– BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

– Efficient in ERP systems

– Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

– Previous fund accounting experience is a plus

– Self-starter and strong ethical standards

– Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
