Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for the oversight of the financial and accounting operations for USA operations and will provide accurate information to the senior leadership, the CFO, and Board of Directors. This is both a strategic and a “hands-on” role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, tax planning, auditor and banking relationships, treasury and investment strategies. The Controller will be responsible for directing and managing the company’s accounting functions in line with ASPE, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures as well as the preparation of financial statements.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead, mentor and provide oversight for the accounting and finance functions.
* Ensuring that the books and records of the entity are kept in accordance with ASPE.
* Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results.
* Review and maintain monthly, quarterly, annual reporting forecasting, and budgeting standards.
* Lead internal and external audits.
* Work with operations to define, measure, analyze, improve and control current processes which impact customer quality and influence internal operating efficiency.
* Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
* Promotes and maintains positive internal and external customer or stakeholder relationships.
* Complies with federal, provincial or state legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
* Provide strategic analysis as required to drive improved decision-making.
* Ad Hoc reporting for the CFO & VP Finance.
What You’ll Need:
* Excellent leadership and effective communication skills.

* Good project management skills and the ability to motivate teams to produce quality work within tight timeframes
* Proven working experience as a Financial Controller
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
* Minimum 7 years experience in a similar role.
* Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
* Experience with financial reporting requirements and expertise in accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE).
* Professional accounting designation preferred.
* Experience within the manufacturing industry is a requirement.
* External auditing and/or experience overseeing audits performed by external audit firms is an asset.
* Experience in Microsoft Nav/Business Central is a strong asset.
* Experience with US sales tax required.
