Financial Controller

Overview:

The Controller will help set the Company’s financial strategy and be essential to its ongoing growth and success.

The successful candidate will have a track record of instituting analytical, data-centric metrics in high-growth companies.

Additionally, this role requires an individual who is a self-starter and has excellent attention to detail.

The position will report to the President and is located in Long Beach, California.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

– Financial modeling, analysis and administration

– Cash management, capital budgeting and financial reporting

– Monitor, measure, and report on financial issues, opportunities and achievements

– Maintain regular processes and dashboards for measuring necessary aspects of the Company’s financial performance

– Develop continuous process improvement strategies to drive financial and operational efficiencies and cost savings

– Be the point person for all numbers and data relating to the Company and responsible for P&L budget management

– Provide analysis for key metrics including forecasting cash flow

– Manage the capitalization process involving both debt and equity financing

– Provide financial leadership in an early stage company in a “rapid growth” environment

– Guide the organization with data and insight and ensure that the Company has the funds necessary to capitalize on its growth opportunities ahead

Job Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field

– 7+ years’ experience in the consumer products or retail industry in a financial controller role

– Highly proficient in QuickBooks and Excel, with a proven ability to learn new systems and manage data effectively.

– Start-up experience (i.e.

business/company development ramping an organization using minimal resources, etc.)

– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

– Strong personal presentation skills to persuade external audiences, board members, strategic partners, key customers, investors and internal stakeholders

– Understanding of term sheets, cap tables and valuations

– Highly analytical, organized, proactive, and motivated

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
