FINANCIAL ANALYST III

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Financial Analyst III is one of the key direct reports to the head of Corporate Finance within the C ity National Banking finance team.

He/she will play a pivotal role in assisting with enterprise-wide planning and forecasting efforts, leading strategic/high-impact corporate initiatives, and delivering key financial analyses and business analytics.

This is a highly visible, hands-on role, interfacing with executive stakeholders/leaders across the business.

Position requires person to be a self-starter, able to drive and execute initiatives on time, work with all levels of management, and provide sound financial recommendations based on accurate financial analyses.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Assist with enterprise-wide annual planning and monthly forecasting/reporting efforts, including bottom up/top-down planning, variance analysis, etc.
  • Develop and own key corporate financial models, enhancing existing forecasting models by increasing forecast accuracy, consolidating enterprise P&L across various functions.
  • Support corporate financial guidance preparation by providing insights and analyses for guidance ranges.
  • Prepare executive level presentations to senior management team and board of directors.
  • Execute critical, time sensitive ad-hoc projects and financial pro-forma, e.g what-if scenarios, sensitivity analysis, etc.
  • Proactively identify and drive process improvements and standardization.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Must-Have*

  • *Minimum of 3 years of financial analysis experience required.
  • *Minimum of 3 years advanced Excel experience including minimum of 2 year complex formula/function development, writing macros in VBA, and utilizing PivotTables and other methods to manipulate large datasets.
  • *Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Microsoft Office

Skills and Knowledge

  • Higher proficiency in PowerPoint and advanced Excel skills, experience involving extensive work with complex spreadsheet and formulas, charts/graphs and other methods to manipulate data large sets.
  • Strong capabilities in and knowledge of business analytic tools.

    Experience with Cognos TM1 and PeopleSoft a plus.

  • Strong organization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships.

    Effective at building appropriate rapport.

  • Outstanding oral communications, written and presentation skills, as well as solid business acumen and ability to convey complex concepts.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and work successfully both independently and in a team.
  • Ability to accurately, thoroughly and efficiently handle/analyze a high data volume.
  • Ability to approach the FP&A environment with the following mentality: prioritize , pivot, and execute while working under tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects at the same time, working under tight deadlines.
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills to interact with all levels of Bank personnel and strong analytical skills required.
  • Proactively addresses routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues prior to referring to higher levels.
