Professional Requirements

The Accounting Clerk will assist in all Accounting functions for the hospital. This includes All AP entries, filing, data entries, and other duties.

Position Summary:

  • Maintains accounting records by making copies; filing documents
  • Handle full circle of account payables, light account receivables and bank reconciliation
  • Ensuring that invoices are reconciled and paid in a timely manner
  • Accurately researching, resolving, and communicating any issues in a timely manner
  • Managing all incoming invoices and ensuring that they are coded to the correct GL account
  • Assist in preparing expense analysis reports
  • Completing check runs for all vendors
  • Assist Accounting Supervisor and Controller with various Ad-Hoc requests
  • Assist Finance team in problem solving and decision making
  • Assist with various project related tasks including evaluation and presentation
  • Perform other duties including answering phone and general office administration
  • Assisting with clerical Payroll duties
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Other Position Accountabilities:

  • Timely response to vendor and department inquiries
  • Interacts well with vendors, co-workers and in-house departments
  • Maintain confidentiality as appropriate
  • Contributes to team effort (ex. Assist supervisor and/or co-workers when needed)
  • All other duties as assigned

    Position Qualifications:

    Minimum Education:

    • AA (2 years) college degree required

    Preferred Education:

    • N/A

    Minimum Experience/Skills:

    • Knowledge of GAAP required and knowledge of IFRS, a plus.
    • Knowledge of Healthcare and Financial Applications.
    • Computer skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Must be able to work in a union environment.

    Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:

    • Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).
