Goodwill SoCal is seeking a mission-driven, hard-working Finance Business Partner who will be an exceptional addition to our high-performing team. In this role, you will act as the key liaison between Finance and the various business lines by applying financial insight in performing projections and analysis of results to support the overall company goals. The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting, developing and improving the financial processes that enable sound planning and decision making for the Business Line. This position specifically focuses on developing, streamlining, maintaining financial and operational reports and models, and provides direct financial support to Business Line Team. This position will track and analyze key metrics and provide financial support to enable business growth and identify opportunities and risks to the business. This role requires a high degree of professionalism and the ability to accomplish objectives with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of the business units or department’s annual operating budgets, forecasts and the development of strategic and operating plans. Build and maintain complex financial and analytical models using advanced Excel skills.
  • Become Goodwill’s expert in administration and management of DOMO/BI Reporting, Adaptive Insights, and the implementation of other financial planning and analysis software per organizational needs.
  • Perform due diligence for new initiatives. Perform sensitivity and incremental cost-benefit decision analyses. Provide analytical support for business initiatives. Identify, analyze, and communicate trends and issues affecting the business.
  • Provides analysis and feedback on financial performance and key performance measure. Provides root cause variance explanations and highlights opportunities and risks.
  • Build and own forecasting process and provide financial information and guidance to all levels of management. Perform in-depth variance analysis between actuals relative to forecasts, budgets and identify and investigate any resulting variance
  • Act in dual role of project and technical analyst to initiate, collaborate on large scale process improvement initiatives within Finance, Retail and other channels of business.

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university, with courses in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience supporting financial models in programs, such as Adaptive Planning or Cognos/TM1. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Advance knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; Access a plus.
  • Detailed oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in creating financial models, forecasting, and reporting with variance analysis.
