We are working with a renowned real estate brokerage firm located in the Woodland Hills/Calabasas area to expand their accounting department by bringing on a Director of Accounting.

What You’ll Do:
Monitor and calculate deferred commissions (VPI) and reconciliations monthly Monitor and review forgivable loans reconciliation and journal entries, and all agent receivables and billings Review marketing support and CECL allowance Review revenue related reconciliations, journal entries and annual agent 1099 Oversee the contract process and operational areas to ensure compliance with SOX Support monthly close process and revenue department Work alongside agents, office managers and legal to resolve and reduce delinquent agent related receivables Provide support to streamline business processes Assist with other projects and ad hoc reports as needed Manage audit support requests to external auditors for SOX and substantive audit procedures
Who You Are:
6+ years of public accounting experience Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant field CPA Required Experience working with volume driven transactional accounting and assessing contract agreements Understanding of process improvements and systems implementations Proficient with Microsoft Suite, specifically very strong excel skills Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills Efficient self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills Desire to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects and deadlines Capacity to mentor other accounting professionals
