Duties and Responsibilities
Director of Investment Communications
The Director of Investment Communications will be a key member of the Investment Management and Research (IMR) team, contributing to First Republic Private Wealth Management’s commitment to deliver clear, concise, timely and valuable information and viewpoints to Wealth Managers and their clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and synthesizing investment research across all markets and producing materials appropriate to the cadence, tone and format that engages Wealth Managers and their clients.
A particular focus will be on identifying developing and publishing on investment themes sourced both internally and externally.
The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating research with the broader Private Wealth Management (PWM) organization, examples include preparing materials for client events.
The Director will be an active contributor to the investment process and participate in investment committee meetings.
The Director will be expected to lead a team that develops, coordinates, curates, and publishes reports for use in client presentations.
The role will require communication with colleagues throughout PWM, the use of third party research tools (e.g.
MSCI, Bloomberg) and analytical comparisons of data produce appropriate charts, graphs, and other visuals.
The Director will work collaboratively with colleagues across the IMR platform to meet client facing publishing opportunities.
What you’ll do as a Director of Investment Communications:
– Author and publish appropriate content at a cadence relevant for Wealth Managers and their clients
– Enhance the existing publishing process, and coordinate with risk, legal, compliance and other internal partners to ensure a consistent and timely delivery of all IMR out-bound materials
– Lead the weekly Market Week call to solicit and synthesize topical investment ideas
– Demonstrate thought leadership and critical thinking in the development of client-facing investment research materials focused on thematic investing opportunities and risks
– Collaborate with Wealth Managers and marketing colleagues to deliver timely responses to client requests
– Maintain awareness of all internal policies used in the production of client-facing materials
– Lead a publishing team that develops unique, thoughtful, topical content that can be leveraged across the PWM platform
Qualifications
You could be a great fit if you have:
– Strong analytical, and written and or communication skills
– MBA and/or CFA preferred
– Knowledge of financial markets and investment management
– At least 5 years’ experience in investment marketing, investment writing, publishing
– Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
– Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to multitask on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
– Willingness and ability to work as a team player and seek feedback
