Director of Global Partnership, Public Affairs & Sustainability – Environment & Landscapes

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role, Environment and Landscapes, are to: Accountable to deepen Bayer’s work with major environment and nature -focused NGOs, business coalitions and thought leaders relevant to Crop Science business and identify transformational partnerships to advance global multi-stakeholder action on sustainable food systems as well as helping to advance UN Sustainable Development Goals as a company.

Leads, supervises and carries out the work program under his/her responsibility, including management of multi-stakeholder platforms and partnerships to support delivering Bayer Crop Science sustainability and transparency public commitments Sets up the priorities and roadmap with Bayer Crop Science sustainability team to provide programmatic/substantive engagement with environmental organizations and NGO leadership.

Identifies critical global programs/initiatives and ensures organizational awareness, context and response.

Ensures engagement and dialogue in relevant fora on sustainable agriculture.

Represents the company as an expert in sustainable agriculture topics such as climate smart practices, water quality, biodiversity and deforestation.

Accountable to develop the strategy and drive implementation of external partnerships and collaborations to deliver our public affairs & sustainability strategy.

Creates and ensures strong trusting relationships with environment stakeholders working with us in public-private partnership projects.

The preferred location for this role is either Creve Coeur, MO or Washington, DC.

Residence-based candidates in the US may be considered based upon the location of the candidate and needs of the business.

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree; At least 12 years of experience with environmental sustainability, food systems sustainability, and/or agricultural sustainability matters.

At least 3 years of that experience must involve direct engagement with external stakeholders and building partnerships in the area of sustainable development.

At least 3 years of experience engaging directly with external stakeholders in areas of sustainable development; Knowledgeable in agriculture business/environment with expertise in sustainable development disciplines; Strong strategic mindset and ability to manage ambiguity; Proven track record leading significant projects/initiatives; Strong leadership skills in project management, strong capacity in networking and communications, analytical skills, intercultural knowledge; Entrepreneurial attitude and high self-motivation; good understanding of strategic marketing and customer insights, driving results, managing complexity, strategic mindset with practical execution capacity, and customer focus; Ability to cooperate, interact, and network with internal and external stakeholders (specifically Environmental and Sustainability NGOs and similar) and strong ability to build trustful relationships.

Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree or PhD in a relevant discipline
